to the enhance Fas-mediated apoptosis a n d activate the JNK pathway (1). Apoptosis signal-regulating kinase 1 (ASK1) controls the dual function of Daxx as a transcriptional repress o r in the nucleus a n d as a proapoptotic signal mediat o r in the cytoplasm (2).
